"SNIP.......
But dont worry. Graham is given a chance to provide a detailed written response. Between them theyll surely find a way to blame someone for unveiling what was never veiled. Maybe Nunes can sneak back into the White House basement and get a hot tip from Flynns former protegewho is exactly who handed him the claims about unmasking in the first place.
Still, its not as if there isnt some new secret to be uncovered about Flynns calls to the Russian ambassador. As Marcy Wheeler reported over at emptywheel:
Flynn wasnt lying to hide what he said to Kislyak.
He was lying to hide that he had coordinated with people at Mar-a-Lago before speaking with Kislyak.
Records of Flynns interviews with the FBI show that he repeatedly lied, not about the contents of the call, but about his own coordination with Trump before and after that call. Not only did Flynn lie directly to the FBI at least three times about his knowledge of sanctions, he followed the call by requesting a written note directly intended to mask the importance of the conversation.
The problem for Graham, Nunes, and others trying to find evidence that Obama did something wrong in regards to Flynn, is that Flynn is a crook, who didnt just lie to the FBI, but covered up his coordination with the Trump transition team. Thats in addition to numerous violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and planning for the kidnapping of a U.S. resident.

If I survive their attempt to kill me with the virus, I hope I see justice someday but I doubt it. I wish I had a more positive attitude.

(10,136 posts)people at Mar-a-Lago and Flynn during the time he was in touch with Kislyak. The article states "Barrs DOJ is hiding the rest of the details about that call. And FBI didnt get a full accounting of what happened between Flynn and Mar-a-Lago." If Graham is going to start poking around in the Flynn matter, hoping to smear Obama, and Biden by extension, Barr might end up having to reveal this information.

(38,187 posts)it gives me a sense of normalcy that I have been craving since this whole thing began. That he thinks he can go after Obama, for any wrongdoing, when Obama did no wrongdoing, is funny. The two feelings together make me smile.
One thing Lindsey Graham can do great, besides talk about how much he could not stand Trump, then not too long after that, line up to be Trump's most eager ass kisser, is fail miserably. I cannot help but notice that Graham is silent and out of mind, out of sight, until they trot him out when Trump goes off the rails.
I still picture Lindsey Graham in a basement somewhere with his hands tied to chains installed in the ceiling just for him, with a ball gag in his mouth, just dripping in sweat, dreaming for his chance to go kiss Trump's ass some more. I could not get over how he went from talking about not liking Trump to being so eager to kiss Trump's ass as much as possible.

(34,358 posts)After all, if we have an Imperial Presidency and the president is above the law and therefore can do anything, then anything that Obama allegedly did while he was president is completely legal and proper. The gop didn't ratify a new Constitution while I wasn't looking, did they? What to do, what to do, what to do?

(34,358 posts)My point is the glaring, stupid hypocrisy of the gop in trying to gin up "crimes" that he couldn't possibly have committed anyway because they've been insisting for almost 4 years that whatever trump does is completely legal.
