How fast can Biden fire cabinet members, department heads?

Have armed Secret Service stationed at their offices and they minute he's sworn in they swarm the offices, get their stuff packed up, security clearances revoked and escorted out. Or taken into custody?

Wheels up when the AP makes the call for Biden.

shredders, confiscate trash receptacles, intercept any outgoing "trash" and have it given the once over. I'm half joking here, but only half.

I wonder about the server where the Ukraine phone call and other sensitive Trump conversations were stashed for limited access: does that server go with the outgoing administration or is it government property that becomes Biden's team's to turn over to prosecutors?

They don't get to stay.

Department heads ... well, I think right away. I'm certain the Biden transition team will take care of them pronto!

There's a lot of cleaning up to do, and even more rebuilding, starting with the State Department, I think.

The sooner the better. I wish it could've happened yesterday.

SO many issues to resolve, but yes, to be "hippie-like" - "we are the world" and we MUST do what we know is right to make it a safer place for us all - and Joe is going to be a marvelous person to lead that.
I could go on regarding how much ground we've lost - I remember the reception candidate OBAMA got when he visited Germany during his campaign. GAWD - the contrast!!!!! I'm truly not sure IQ45 could find Germany on a map that didn't have the names printed on it!

So much to hope for - but so much work to do. We must be sure to:

GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!

As soon after the Inauguration ceremony as possible. This isn’t just my sense of outrage anymore, but I am coming to believe that the West Wing is a collection of massive security breaches.

anyone with anything to hide is going to quit and pack up their stuff, not to mention destroy stuff they leave behind, to cover up much of what they did. But the administration should be prepared to "undo" anything that was done in the last 90 days or so. They can always decide to "redo" it if they desire. And they should start, on day one, the processes that need to be followed in order to undo things that take much longer. And executive orders can be signed to suspend the worst of things until they can be properly undone.

Yes indeedy they do. (Dick Cheney circumvented that for a bunch of lower level people by making their jobs into Civil Service jobs, but that was most irregular.)

The Cabinet members most especially belong to the outgoing POTUS. Not a single one will remain when Trump is hoisted aboard Marine One.

That's how we do it in this country.
