Fine, let them congregate in their houses of worship

But once they got sick, let them stay home. Let them not take precious resources from the ones who really need them, let them not endanger health care workers.

They can't have it both ways: saying that the "government" cannot tell them what to do, but why they are in dire needs, call for help form... the government.

Yeah, I know, their "logic" do not work that way.

then got ill, from the CV. And it isn't just a few gatherings, I am thinking roughly 3-5 examples of church groups coming down w/ the CV after cross contamination occurred (w/ the CV). I think that quite a few of them are ignoring the hypocrisy of trump's words and also most states I imagine in some way allowed the services to occur, online, but w/ rare person to person svcs, if they could properly deal w/ it, spacing, etc.

rump is a fat zero, way too late on everything he does (and when he does do something, it's idiotic and not thought out).

I do agree w/ you though, being reckless w/ one's behavior and possibly endangering critical resources w/ such stupid actions when (1) there are different ways to 'meet', to raise funds, to do things online, temporarily, just for this emergency. It hasn't even been perhaps 3 full months so far into this thing and these people (they claim) are screaming for crap, lack of hair cuts, can't fulfill their religious obligations via different (and temporary means), etc., in short, really mundane things? I prefer to remember the horrible death count and those victims far more than someone in church, pretending to be offended in some manner because they can't 'meet' for services.

People are contagious BEFORE they get sick. Your plan would make the rest of us sick, too - and put healthcare workers at risk.

To use the STD analogy - if you let them have an orgy in their large group - then you have an encounter with one them in the grocery store, or your office, the pharmacy, the doctor's office, etc. you are - in effect - joining the orgy.

Since there's no way to keep the rest of us from encountering them when they are contagious but not yet symptomatic, you have to stop the orgy.

I sure as shit don't want to get it second hand from my MAGA neighbors who might attend a Sunday service, hold a backyard party, or go to one of the lockdown protests.

When you go out. Especially since you don’t know who else in the neighborhood may carry the virus, without attending any event.
