Montana Gov. Steve Bullock (D) outraised Sen. Steve Daines (R) in the states high-profile Senate race as Democrats hope to score an upset.
Bullock raised about $2.4 million in the first half of the second quarter and has about $4.1 million in the bank, according to his campaigns latest filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Daines raised $1.3 million and has a war chest of $5.8 million.
Campaigns with primaries on June 2 have filed so-called pre-primary reports that cover fundraising from April 1-May 13. Montana is one of a handful of states that will hold its Senate primary on June 2.
Bullock entered the Senate race after his short-lived presidential run flamed out, giving Democrats a top-tier competitor in a state where theyd previously been lacking a serious candidate for the race.

(43,299 posts)Tim McGraw (Open seat in TN, stated for decade plus he would run for Senate when he was 50 (he is 53 now) and Sibelius in KS (Bollier has a chance to win but nothing like Sibelius' chances) are still on my shitlist McGraw should have run against the RWNJ Marsha Blackburn in 2018. It was also an open seat and a Blue Wave year, but he refused then too. We got stuck with weak, poor campaigning Bredesen who basically destroyed his campaign the first or second week when he said he would have absolutely voted to confirm the drunkard sex assaulter Kavanaugh.
Abrams (unless she is the VP choice,, which I doubt a bit now) and Yates in GA (2 races) are on it a bit as well, and so is Begich in AK (former Dem US Senator already and now we have ZERO candidates)
5 bloody potential flips, now all 5 are in real danger of not happening (Alaska we are toast, and same for TN probably, Mackler (our probable primary winner) was trailing the MAGAt Hagerty by almost 20 points in a poll I saw on CNN)
My goal was 8 flips (54-46 Dem majority as we will loe Jones in Alabama)
54 is a magic number, as then we will not need our VP to break a tie on the the inevitable occasions that Manchin, Sinema, and now, if he wins (he will) Hickenlooper trot off and vote with the Rethugs, like the first two have been doing FAR too often.
I am projecting 6 flips now (AZ, NC, IA, CO, MT, and ME) so 52-48, and those 3 can really fuck us at times if they all bolt the barn together, but at least we will have Senate control back from Moscow Mitch.
I would love to sneak out 2 more wins, say KS and one of the GA races (Perdue is weak) maybe, OR even Moscow in KY!!!

(43,299 posts)was not a auto response. I had hope after the last one because the wording was diffrent, offered more hope that he was considering it. I was so happy when he decided to run. He was one of my top 4 or 5 POTUS choices. I think he will make a great Senator.
