Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsTo the "good Christians" demanding their "right" to meet in crowded churches, sing hymns
at each other and trust the words of the Psalms instead of the consensus opinion of doctors and scientists: I, for one, am 100% supportive of your exercise of what you term your "faith", PROVIDED that you not be back-sliding hypocrites.
Please publicly forswear any medical treatment in the event your faith does not protect you and you "somehow" become infected with the Corona virus. Having loudly declared your total reliance on Biblically promised protections, you surely would not want to sully the purity of your faith by accepting heathen remedies like oxygen masks and ventilators. So, "Onward Christian Soldiers"! Sign the "I Don't Need No Stinkin' Medical Care" pledge today!
And, when you attend services this weekend, remember: "Church ain't over till all the snakes are back in the box."
Bless your hearts!

(20,544 posts)The belligerent antis want it all. They want to pretend there is no virus therefore they can be free to infect others and expect medical care from people risking their health and lives to treat people that are sick. I would like to see all who feel they must congregate, held in quarantine as others have been who have been exposed to the virus. They cannot know if they have or have not, so we need to err on the side of caution. All of them into quarantine.

Trumps numbers for people of various faiths are plummeting, so that's why he's playing this way and test marketing.
It won't work, of course, and that's good. It may even backfire. Churches, et al, have been shown to be super spreaders and there have been reports on that. The places of worship will close soon after if they open now. Some know that, some ignore it. Either way, the outcome is bad, not holy.

My town is using streaming for all action that the public should know like bid openings, and meeting to reports on other official business. Takes a few minutes but people can keep up.
