(86,515 posts)I am in a rural place and only have to mask up when I leave the property. Yes, a bunch of tourists will be here soon but they aren't coming to my house and I know how to avoid them most of the time when I have to go out.
I'm stayin' home this summer.

(25,816 posts)I have plenty of elbow room on my land. A few friends have stopped by and we talk from opposite sides of the pickup bed. No one has been in my house for three months but Jeannie and the cats.
This week is my one year anniversary of acquiring this housing and it is perfect for what I needed then and still is. I have one immediate neighbor, the landlady, and we get along just fine and are setting up and planting a good sized garden, though that is a challenge in our region... right now it's snowing. I just got in from covering the tomatoes that we've already put in the ground and the cat is drying off in front of my heater, not my cat but we're in love, and the horses have moved into the shed.
Life is good at this point and I have a real reason for not wanting to go anywhere and just stay home. Home is a pretty good place for me after a long spell of not having one at all... I'll take it.

(86,515 posts)Most of the state is north of the 45th parallel. They say it will be in the 70s come Monday. It's supposed to be cold tonight too then better after that. We keep getting a few nice, warm days and then almost winter for a few... it's just springtime in the Rockies.
Looking at weather projections though, Texas is going to have some nasty stuff next week. The five day outlook has bad thunderstorms and heavy rain predicted starting tomorrow and getting worse during the week!
I'll go with a little bit of huge snowflakes over damaging thunderstorms. We had really bad hail in the eastern of the state a few days ago. Our weather is like that anyway.
