trump needs the churches open so they can tell their sheep to vote for him.

He needs these tax free political organizations pushing his platform from the pulpit.

Evangicals have stuck with him because they are told they a not Christian if they don't vote republican.

and eventually, I believe, that will be restored. Might take a few years of Democrats in office to resurrect the line between state and church and penalize churches that get political.

As it is, there have been Christian churches all over the country, regularly preaching that support for Trump is essentially a tenet of their Christian faith. The majority of Christian voters cast their ballots for Trump in 2016, and part of the reason is because so many Christian leaders told them that's what God wanted them to do.

I suspect what's worrying the preachers most right now, is that once people get out of the habit of dragging their asses to church every week, many of them will never come back even when it's safe to do so.

He can't win in 2020 unless he gets most of the Christians' votes again, and he and his people know it.

one of the many reasons why membership numbers for some churches are dropping? There are some really good, caring churches out there, I don't want to knock all of them, since some of them actually do good for the communities they are in. Even so far to allow their buildings to be used for voting locations.
