What will you do if Trump refused to leave office or decides to stop election voting activities

Democrats and Never-Trumpers gaming out ‘doomsday scenarios’ if president refuses to leave office: report

According to a report in the New York Times, Democratic strategists and Never-Trumper conservatives fear Donald Trump will refuse to leave office should he lose in November and are making plans and figuring out their legal options should such an unprecedented state of affairs come to pass.

The report, by the Times’ Reid Epstein, begins with one such possible scenario.

“In October, President Trump declares a state of emergency in major cities in battleground states, like Milwaukee and Detroit, banning polling places from opening. A week before the election, Attorney General William P. Barr announces a criminal investigation into the Democratic presidential nominee, Joseph R. Biden Jr,” he suggested. “After Mr. Biden wins a narrow Electoral College victory, Mr. Trump refuses to accept the results, won’t leave the White House and declines to allow the Biden transition team customary access to agencies before the Jan. 20 inauguration.”

Admitting that his suggestion sounds “far-fetched,” he added, “Not to a group of worst-case scenario planners — mostly Democrats, but some anti-Trump Republicans as well — who have been gaming out various doomsday options for the 2020 presidential election:

Let's face it, we are powerless in that situation. Protests, rallies, and other forms of peaceful activism only works on a cooperative opponent.

If we need to rely on force, we may be disappointed. Most law enforcement and military want to collect their pay check and stay safe. The minority willing to put their lives in the line for beliefs likely trend conservative.

Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

But after what Trump did to their fine captain, I am pretty sure that not only would the entire ship’s compliment volunteer to help remove Trump et cie from the White House, they’d allow the Secret Service to use their ship for the mass keelhauling that must follow.

I had this conversation just last night with a fellow Dem.

Dear Leader, the GOP and Putin will pull all kinds of shit before Inauguration Day. They will do anything and everything to stay in power. tRump knows he is going to jail when he leaves office and he does not want that to happen. He is extremely dangerous and will become even worse. Be ready.

This is what we hear each and every Inaugural Day.

The beauty of our Constitution.

If Trump attempts to betray this, he'll be escorted out. If he squawks, then frog-marched in handcuffs ... kicking and screaming, I don't care. He will be a trespasser with no more rights than the average John Doe.

The White House is not his. It is the People's House - yours and mine.

If they try to pull a stunt in October, it won't work.

If he signals he isn’t leaving then millions upon millions will go and even if his gun toting mouth breathers also decide to show we will bring our guns if we have to.

But he is coming out of there either by the SS or the federal marshals or by a million people storming the gates.

But he won’t be there one day past his term.

Myself.
However if anyone in Harford county Maryland could help with transportation to and from wherever it is. I'd be glad to go to a protest, make a sign and scream about it with whatever others are going out there to scream about it too.

I have risk factors making me vulnerable to covid, but I don't care because I can't live in a neoliberal dictatorship without my consience and moral/ ethical compass on fire and every fiber of my being going mad wanting it to be destroyed.
Trump would be hated with the heat of 100 trillion blue star sun's.

I'd be willing to hookup via zoom or in person with others to brainstorm about what to do about it.

I don't want to be useless

We need a campaign NOW to show what Trump/GOP is doing to try to disenfranchise voters and undermine the election result. It should be part of the Democrat strategy to point out that the GOP want to win by cheating. Then it is harder for GOP to implement if they are being exposed every step of the way.

enough people in this country who are willing to tear up the Constitution for Donald.

The states come up with the electors. Nothing so far says how the states come up with electors, and for years the legislatures did it. They can do it again.

And at this point nothing says they have to vote for whom they pledged, although that's been before the Supremes already, and will be again. Pressure on a few electors could change things. And since the 22(?) amendment, the election is certified by the incoming Congress not the outgoing one. Think about that for a minute.

Without another civil war, it seems to me that we have enough support within all three branches of government to frog march the present lump out of the White House if he doesn't get certified by Inauguration Day.

Ain't no emergency bad enough to keep this one in office.

but, since we are hypothesizing, I would suggest that such an action would clearly be an illegal overthrow of the Government, and a direct attack on the Constitution. I would feel that, in order to fulfill the oath that I took as a young man, and that I never rescinded, I would feel obligated to grab my pitchfork and head to the streets. I am too old to be a good soldier, but I am too young to become a good slave.

consent to it hundreds or thousands of times daily in the course of their ordinary lives

Such an act would qualify as treason

Who's would consent to this? Any judge or politician who goes along with it would be in violation of their oath of office

However, he will be removed from the White House. I hope it's trussed up and on a refrigerator dolly with cameras rolling, to be loaded onto a chopper like a big sack of manure and taken to wherever his private plane is.

This house is in Dallas. A rally event will get him out of the real white house. When it is time to go back to the real WH, just deliver him here instead.

There are also replicas in McLean VA and Atlanta if this one isn't available.
