Trump falsely claims 'thousands' of forgeries on mail-in ballots

despite his own commission not finding a single case of fraud

Donald Trump continued to voice his opposition to expanded mail-in voting with a tweet on Sunday spreading falsehoods about the prevalence of fraud in the process, even though confirmed cases of voter fraud have been in the single digits in past presidential elections.

“The United States cannot have all Mail In Ballots. It will be the greatest Rigged Election in history,” Mr Trump tweeted, the latest in a recent uptick of attacks on Democrats’ — and even many Republicans’ — desire to expand mail-in voting to mitigate health risks during the coronavirus pandemic.

“People grab them from mailboxes, print thousands of forgeries and ‘force’ people to sign. Also, forge names,” the president wrote, falsely, without citing any evidence to support such claims.

Mr Trump, who spent his succssion day in succession at a golf course over the holiday weekend as the death toll from the pandemic neared 100,000 has spent countless hours on Twitter and before reporters during his political career promoting unsubstantiated theories about rampant voter fraud in the US, which study after study has shown is extremely rare. The president has repeatedly claimed, falsely, that he would have beaten Hillary Clinton in the 2016 popular vote were it not for the “millions of people who voted illegally.”

Or is this another inadvertent admission that he knows of a lot of election fraud being pulled by the GOP in Florida and other states with mail-in ballots?

which is placed inside another envelope of a different color, the voter seals the flap and then signs the flap in a spot where if it had been opened it would damage the signature.

It's going to be pretty hard for folks to grab them from mailboxes, print thousands and then get the proper envelopes; plus it would have to be on card stock. It goes to the ballot board for review if it isn't packaged correctly, and it would be too obvious if it were a copy (not to mention the yellow and green envelopes)

I really want to know where these infamous forgers are going to get the envelopes, since they are mailed to the voter with the ballot and any extras are stored under lock and key.

Oh yeah and there is that little part about it being a Federal Offense to tamper with a mailbox.

We can't let him get away with that. I believe the vast majority of Americans would relish the chance to vote by mail during the uncertainty of these times, we need to keep bringing the argument back to actual data shows that Trump is lying, and the majority of Americans would prefer to safely vote by mail.

Only by forcing them to be present at the polls where there is a chance on getting the virus can he get re-elected.

safety glasses. I have normally voted in person, but in a recent special election, I voted by mail. If Trump is making vote by mail difficult and the Courts back him, I will vote early in person, like I always do. I am willing to risk death to defeat him.

Where I live if you sign the envelope Paul R Smith while your signature on file is Paul Robert Smith it is rejected. The requirement that signatures match makes fraud almost impossible. If a dead man’s absentee ballot is submitted how does the fraudster match the signature? Probably 95% of fraudulent ballots would be rejected. Who would risk jail for a five percent chance of a vote being counted? Doesn’t happen.
