you will not see a flag at our house tomorrow. Not even at half staff will it be displayed. As long as Donald Trump is in the White House, we will not fly the flag, or salute it. We will not say the pledge of allegiance or sing or stand for the national anthem. He has demeaned the meaning of all of it. I am horrified to be an American right now. I hope to regain pride in 2021.
And it is not just Trump, it is all all the people who support and agree with him. He has uncovered a horror underbelly of this country, that I wish I had never known about.

(816 posts)I had the same thoughts but I realized I was making it about him. It is Not. Fuck Him! It's for the brothers & sisters who paid the ultimate price, something he will never be able to comprehend. The flag will come down tomorrow night though!

Having said that, maybe put up the flag with a poster with picture of the traitor or his name with an X thru it

(38,414 posts)Not new. I wish it were otherwise, but it isn't. Pictures of U.S.A. Nazi Rallies in the 30s. George Wallace in the 50s ..etc. It all depends who & how you count them. So many examples, but Trump won for lots of reasons. The election was close and fixing the election could be done. Whatever, the reason, Trump will go down in November.
And it won't be close.

(153,138 posts)I honor the fallen, it has nothing to do with the draft-dodging, pussy grabbing piece of shit occupying the White House
It is the flag of the United States, not the flag of the Trump

(4,385 posts)Under this admin, I feel the country is most certainly in dire distress from the clear and present danger in the WH who has not one quality of goodness I could name, and whose leadership is purely and abominably executed against our nation in so many ways.
I will, instead, leave virtual flowers for the Grandfather I never knew on another site, a soldier who perished in Europe during WWII and still rests in peace there. I will honor all the veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice and so much more in respect of their vow to protect America in wars and conflicts, here and abroad, before and after my birth by planting new life and by living mine safe at home while thinking on the loss of what will surely be the over 100,000 who lived and died in this pandemic.
