My strategy

I live in Houston and have started going to restaurants again but I have a strategy.

1. I only go to lunch after 1:30. I haven't gone to dinner but if I did it would be after 7pm.
2. I don't go to a particular restaurant if it seems busy
3. I wear my mask in.
4. I bring Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer
5. I make sure I sit at least 10-12 feet away from anyone. I sit outside if possible
6. I wipe my table and sanitize my hands
7. I hurry up and leave if it starts to get crowded.
8. I sanitize my hands when I leave.

I think this strategy is fairly safe. Plus, although I can't verify it (couldn't get tested) , I think I may have had a very mild case in March.

... eat with a mask. I'm not going to support a massive system of putting low wage servers at risk. And then having them put everyone else at risk.

Can you imagine how cramped the kitchen is?

we will EVER go out into the public again as there is NO "do-over" if exposed. The new paradigm and we are unwilling to take the risk for ANY reason.

I'm pretty much resigned to living like we have been until there is a proven vaccine.
What if you go through all this, get a mediocre meal and two weeks later you have the virus?

Worth it?

said it felt creepy. Only one other table occupied, everything disposable, employees masked and at a distance. They tried, but say they won't be doing it again anytime soon.

Eating out is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. It's just depressing and scary now.

Frankly, I don't see us dining in any restaurant ever again. These new days, the most we do is get orders to go, drive to a park make a picnic out of it.

I'll surely miss it, but I'll manage.
