WHO pauses trial of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients due to safety concerns

GENEVA, May 25 (Reuters) - The World Health Organization has suspended testing the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients due to safety concerns, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday.

Hydroxycholoroquine has been touted by Donald Trump and others as a possible treatment for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. The U.S. President has said he was taking the drug to help prevent infection.

"The executive group has implemented a temporary pause of the hydroxychloroquine arm within the Solidarity trial while the safety data is reviewed by the data safety monitoring board," Tedros told an online briefing.

He said the other arms of the trial - a major international initiative to hold clinical tests of potential treatments for the virus - were continuing.

And I would be willing to bet a paycheck that he never took one of those pills. My bet is that somehow he has an investment in the drug and did what he did to profit from it.

His sheep probably believed him, but anyone with common sense knows its just another lie. The problem is, this lie could actually cause people's deaths. And the media BETTER report every single causality of this deception. If any doctor prescribes this drug knowing the risk to cardiac death, they should be sued and there should be a class action suit against the government for this known deception.

This infuriates me. Why is ANYONE allowing this? Are we so desensitized by the daily bullshit that we are just rolling our eyes while the so-called leader of our country rants like a crazed lunatic?

I'm 62 and I've never in my life seen such a blatant disregard for truth, honesty, integrity, decency. It really breaks my heart.
