Here's what brought this story to light.
Trump's just an old mobster by nature & this business with Scarborough is more about the danger of how Trump does business than it is about Joe Scarborough.

(95,247 posts)Still a nifty charge to make, and the old cui bono works like a charm for many.
This stuff doesn't have to be true, that ought to be obvious to anyone by now. It would be a fun thing to set loose in twitter feeds and on facebook --- trump murders men about to go state's witness against him in money laundering case tied to crooked casinos. A useful smear....
brooklynite
(94,510 posts)I profoundly disagree.
The Magistrate
(95,247 posts)The air is thick with charges which are wholly fabricated, yet believed by millions, affecting not just public discourse but influencing behavior, from the voting booth clear down to the loon with a gun and a car.
A nice juicy charge of mob murder by the cheap thug would be splendid to have in the mix. It's laying right there, no reason not to pick it up and use it....

(94,510 posts)There's plenty of reality to go after Trump with.
The Magistrate
(95,247 posts)Some people will find their distaste and hatred for the cheap thug deepened by the idea he actually could be a murderous mobster. They will not necessarily believe it, but will enjoy thinking it, even saying it. Such reinforcement of existing conviction may contribute to the critical mass behind a decision to act, to volunteer for a campaign, to register, to vote.
Some supporters of the cheap thug will be enraged by the charge, and devote social media effort to 'debunking it', effort that won't be spent spreading their own smears, and there is research showing that 'debunking' often cements a preexisting belief rather than dispelling it. The very character of the people reacting with outrage to the claim will tend more than usually to reinforce its maybe being true, because many denouncing it will like the idea of Trump having killed these people, and in their heart of hearts will want the charge to be true. Surely the bigger than life Trump they worship, who looms with Rambo's muscles and Schwarzenegger's gatling mini-gun in dozens of internet graphics, would have some rats killed before they could do him any dirt.
Marketing depends on repetition, in the crudest analysis. What people hear, often, that sticks in their minds, and even if they disagree with something, even if they don't like it, it still may be something comes to their mind when a purchasing decision is made. People who don't pay a lot of attention may well recall having read somewhere Trump had some witnesses against him killed, if it is repeated often enough, and it will not go much against the predispositions of many regarding the cheap thug. It certainly could be some small portion of their final decision he is an unsavory and unfit person.
If people ever were swayed in their political behavior by reasoned argument, they are not so swayed now. The business of politics today is one of emotional manipulation, of burrowing in to the deeper layers of the mind like a tick beneath the skin.

(46,086 posts)Trump sat there stoney-faced and remarked that " he) could never do that." When asked to clarify, whether he meant that he couldn't give a moving eulogy for his brother. No, responded Trump. He could never break down and weep, making himself look "like an asshole like that."
That's the material we're dealing with . . . . . . . .

The orange MASS MURDERER certainly had/has the connections to have it done. Since we know all about his projections, I still think the police ought to at least look at some of the unsolved murders in NYC. Bring in some psychics to help narrow the search.
smirkymonkey
(63,221 posts)He's always had mob connections. There is no way he'd get his own hands dirty. He's probably paid off the NYPD as well to do a slip-shod investigation. Also, it's probably not the first time he has had people rubbed out who have gotten in his way. And I don't doubt that he will do it again.
Just ask Epstein...
You know he had a hand in that.

(9,980 posts)The 2004 presidential race in Ohio was full of all kinds of irregularities, showing that the election was stolen for Bush.
A new filing in the King Lincoln Bronzeville v. Blackwell case includes a copy of the Ohio Secretary of State election production system configuration that was in use in Ohio's 2004 presidential election when there was a sudden and unexpected shift in votes for George W. Bush.
The filing also includes the revealing deposition of the late Michael Connell. Connell served as the IT guru for the Bush family and Karl Rove. Connell ran the private IT firm GovTech that created the controversial system that transferred Ohio's vote count late on election night 2004 to a partisan Republican server site in Chattanooga, Tennessee owned by SmarTech. That is when the vote shift happened, not predicted by the exit polls, that led to Bush's unexpected victory. Connell died a month and a half after giving this deposition in a suspicious small plane crash.
Why would a server in Tennessee be used? Why would Trump have a server in Trump Tower connected to Alta Bank in Russia? Payments to Russian mob bosses? Republicans have been stealing elections for decades, and theyve been able to get away it. We should be forewarned this fall.

(8,049 posts)Karl Rove's relationship to the SmarTech server site. When Karl Rove tried to do it again against Obama, Anonymous evidently stepped in and made sure there were no surprises.
We really need Anonymous for the upcoming election since the russians have already hacked a couple of the state servers. The republican lead Senate investigation showed the Russians totally hacked Florida's central tabulators in 2016.

(2,227 posts)I, personally, believe it. So what if no AG/IG has filed charges... That is EXACTLY what he would do, if he could. I sure as hell think he could, and would. And not lose a wink of sleep over it.
He struts like he does because he knows he can get away with things.
The state of NY has known for decades about the turd's dirty dealings, yet have done nothing. Which is why I expect that will be the same result this time around, after Biden is in.
Put it out there. Get some journalists interested in it. Let's see what floats to the surface...
Meanwhile, let it stew in people's minds. Simmer. Slowly come to have a life of its own.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving person.
