New Video Shows a Handcuffed George Floyd Not Resisting Arrest Before Being Murdered By Cop Derek Chauvin; Video Cuts Off Before The Moment He is Thrown to The Ground

Why does the video cut off?
What dont they want us to see?
In the original police report, it says that Floyd was resisting arrest. Even if he was that doesnt excuse Derek Chauvin for putting his knee on the neck of a handcuffed and unarmed man for over 7 minutes. Even with Floyd loses consciousness and dies, Chauvin keeps the pressure on his neck so there is no way he can be revived.
In this new video, Floyd is handcuffed and not resisting at all.
He does seem to be in some physical pain which he appears to be telling the cops. He is handcuffed there are multiple cops on the scene, so he is not physical threat to them.
Once again even if he starts resisting there is no reason to murder him, but what if the video shows he doesnt do anything? We need to see what else is on the tape and the body cam footage ASAP.

(21,433 posts)If a group of friends is walking down the street and sees somebody choking someone else, they could tackle the perpetrator and stop the murder in progress. When the murderer is a cop, a couple things prevent by standers from protecting the victim. Cops are armed. They usually have a partner or more cops with them. They can charge would-be lifesavers with interfering in an arrest.
So what can witnesses do? A few thoughts occur to me but if anyone else has ideas on what to do while a murder by cop is in progress, feel free to post them.
The goal is to stop the murder and save the victim's life.
Witnesses can shout, "Murder in progress!" Or, "We see you. We are witnesses." Or, "Stop the killing!."
Draw attention. Use an alarm if you have one. Or create a disturbance away from the site where the killing is happening in order to draw the cops' attention.
Something needs to be done to stop these murders WHILE they are happening to save the victim's life. Firing and trials after the fact are necessary, but they don't bring the victim back to life.

(21,433 posts)human being without justified cause. Justified cause is delf-defense, or defense of someone else. (Or war, which is debatable, depending on the immediate situation.)
I am using this word with deliberate intent. I believe they should be charged with murder and allowed to defend themselves on that charge, which is more than they allowed their victim. From the available information, I do not believe that this death was accidental, or negligent. The man was begging for air. Witnesses recognized that he was dying. There were 3 other cops who did not intervene. He was handcuffed and on the ground. He posed no threat to justify cutting off his air supply. Sincewhen is cutting off someone's air supply ever justified?
Several other killings of POC by cops have occurred in questionable circumstances. Some were due to carelessness or unconscious bias creating exaggerated fear. But some appear to be deliberate malice.
These killings are too frequent and too limited to POC over suspected minor offenses for claims of accident or self protection to be credible. Not when the victim is handcuffed or otherwise clearly not a threat.

It's not the first time that Cops ignore clear signs of distress of the people they abuse and who eventually die under their control. The people around them clearly saw the danger, yet they didn't. Whether that is malice, lack of empathy or not being prepared because of shitty training, only severe consequences can change that.

(21,433 posts)cases involve white suspects/victims.
While there are many good cops, there are also some who view POC as threats to rough up, even to the point of death. There are also RW racist cops who are sympathetic to or secretly involved with supremacy groups.
This is too frequent and bold to be accidental. Why is it that these "accidents" don't happen to whites?

(3,567 posts)He kept sarcastically telling him to get in the car. He very clearly, patiently, and stoically said that he would. He told him that he was in pain multiple times and that he could not breathe multiple times. The officer kept sarcastically telling him to get in the car as he slowly and deliberately strangled him to death.

(10,167 posts)I guess Floyd must have been doing something else to make these four cops fear for their lives.
