Home Depot and Kroger.
I saw only 3 without masks, out of quite a few people.
One seemed like a Dump lover.

here in southeastern virginia, most people were wearing them at the grocery store. I would say over 90 %. Governor Northam just announced that starting this friday, it will actually be mandatory to wear one in any public place.

(36,744 posts)One thing I will miss. A driveable 275. Normally it is a parking lot in the AM and at rush hour in PM.

(9,874 posts)Most (but not all) of the store employees wear masks but much less than half the customers. From my personal observation I would say the younger a person is the less likely they will be wearing a mask.

I can't tell who is a Madman lover however.

(36,744 posts)I think we will see near everyone wearing them in October.

I doubt anyone not wearing one now will be wearing one later - more likely they'll be on a machine.

(25,816 posts)That's good, not just because it will thwart the virus, but because trump has made it a sign of
support for him to not use a mask. Anecdotal I know, but I can see this everywhere. Go Joe!

(51,308 posts)In less than five minutes I saw many, many people not wearing masks, many others with the (what seems to be the trendy) under the chin mask wear, many under the nose, and then even more amazingly - those moving them up and down in order to take selfies.
No words.

(2,990 posts)Its probably like greater society and lots of hit or miss.
I was in downtown Vancouver today and say maybe 30% wearing masks. Oddly enough Ive seen increased mask wearing in my tiny mountain town.
To be honest I would like to think common sense would tell anyone that a protest is a lot of people jammed into an area tightly, therefore wear a damn mask but I just think common sense is gone.

(28,344 posts)Before Gov. Whitmer opened up our area, people were wearing their masks. I stayed in the car while my son went into Home Depot on the 16th, and everyone I saw going in and out of the store wore masks. Son said inside the store only a handful of people were unmasked.
He and his girlfriend have been reporting the same thing when they go to the grocery - UNTIL - the huge influx of downstaters arrived! Now they are seeing more and more people unmasked. Argghhh ...
I don't know anybody up here who are happy to see this new invasion. I guess we'll see if this area spikes in a couple-three weeks.

(3,595 posts)and when I venture out, which is as sparingly as possible these days, masks are a rarity. People working in establishments are wearing them, true, but pedestrians are not. It's infuriating.
