On Wednesday, according to CNN correspondent Kaitlan Collins, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced to reporters that President Donald Trump will be signing an executive order on social media.
McEnany did not elaborate on what this executive order would entail but, as Collins noted, the announcement comes a day after Twitter appended a fact-check to a pair of Trump tweets.

The tweets in question claimed that mail-in voting will be substantially fraudulent because people can simply rob mailboxes or forge or illegally print out fake ballots something for which he provided no evidence, and for which state election systems already have robust safeguards.

That thing is out of his fucking mind if he thinks he can issue an executive order regarding a private company OR mail-in voting. He thinks he's emperor. Asshole.

They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... my Very Stable Genius you-know-what... that a duplicate feed to the fact check DID exist, and I was stifled by them, even though my original tweets are still there, but they put a link to the actual facts that would show that I was not right about something, and that ... that I was promoting a totally debunked conspiracy theory again.

"We live in a country that needs walls! You want me on that wall, you need me on that wall! And Mexico's never going to pay for it! And you know what else! You're damn right I did it! I ordered the code red! I colluded with Putin to steal the election! I had Khashoggi cut up with a bone saw!"

(7,413 posts)Once or twice can be brushed off, but 11 times is going to be tough to tap-dance around.
But, also like her boss, McEnany has taken advantage of its convenience time and time again.
In fact, the Tampa native has voted by mail in every Florida election she has participated in since 2010, according to a Tampa Bay Times review of her voting history. Most recently, she voted by mail in the states March 2020 presidential primary, just as Trump did after he made Florida his new permanent home.
Last week, McEnany, 32, said vote-by-mail was OK for Trump because "the president is, after all, the president, which means hes here in Washington. Hes unable to cast his vote down in Florida, his state of residence.

(63,221 posts)or sleeping her way through. She is an absolute idiot. She started out at lesser schools to bump her way into the more prestigious ones, getting herself a prestigious degree but you can tell by the way she presents herself that she was no Summa Cum Laude, or even scraping by for that matter.
If I was a graduate of either university I would be insulted that she claimed to be an Alumnae. I think someone needs to do a little digging into her past. Seems like there are some Trump-like fabrications to me.

(3,622 posts)In the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant if he can do it legally...
Rational people understand the first amendment...but his action is designed to appeal to the tea party supporters who believe that everyone and every agency is persecuting them.
With Hitler it was the Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Unions, Socialists, Slavs.....etc.
With trump its appealing to the base based upon a slightly different grouping....immigrants, China, Mexicans etc...
At some point between now and November our party needs to address this...
My suggestion....
Time to go find a bunch of Madison Avenue advertising professionals and get on with calling it...

(1,178 posts)Trump knows he hasn't got a leg to stand on. The only reason he did this today was because he knew the death toll was going to go above 100,000 and this stunt about social media is being used as a distraction. He's going to do everything he can to keep the media from making the death count from COVID be the lead story.
