Why attack the firefighters? dware May 2020 #1

They have nothing to do with the murder of Mr. Floyd.

That seems counterproductive.

the only police interaction I have are weigh stations and the occasional DOT stop for an inspection.

Anyways, climbing into my sleeper for some well earned rest.
Good night all.

1) If you believe that’s a thing, you’re watching corporate media spin, not the live streams from earlier. Mostly, fireworks were going off pretty continuously away from the areas where protesters and police lines collided.

2) Again, if you were watching live streams, you would be aware of the pounding protestors took from barage after barage of tear gas... until police scanners showed them calling for more because they RAN OUT. Then they switched to projectiles. Many people were hurt. I’m quite certain one young man had a dangerously awful concussion, if not a skull fracture. While streets medics patched up his bleeding head, the worrisome thing was that both eyes were deeply blackened, though he had been struck on the back of the head. If a few protesters threw a few fireworks after eating endless teargas and projectiles, I’m not sure you can really blame them.

Stop worrying about protesters “going overboard.” Until you see the real story, it’s just corporate media trying to tug the heartstrings of every weak liberal who has not overcome a lifetime’s indoctrination that property interests are equal with human lives.

The cops are really scared. That’s good. They should be. I just hope that protesters aren’t too badly hurt in the coming days.

And yes rioters are throwing pyrotechnics at the police and firemen.
Notice I say rioters and not protestors.

2 separate groups of people, one I support, another I do not. Arson and looting are not protest.

Scared cops kill folks. Scared citizens kill folks. And my property and livelihood is worth defending. Call me weak all you want, I consider the source. The criminal robbing me of my livlihood decided his life was worth less than my property well before I did.

There were a ton of locals being opportunistic, especially after dark. Target got cleared out by people who were not in the streets and focused on the precinct station. People had fireworks down the street, and were shooting them off constantly. Those weren’t protestors.

Also, don’t blame protestors for arson. Flashbangs and other projectile weapons spark fires. I’ll give 99% odds that police weapons sparked off the Autozone fire in the middle of the main scrum - the store is kiddy-corner from the precinct.
