Did you watch the live-streams? I did, for hours.
Guess who was looting? Not protestors. They were freaking busy behind hit with tear gas UNTIL THE COPS RAN OUT AND CALLED FOR MORE, and crazy amounts of projectiles. There was video taken inside the store, live, including by right wing Indy media. Guess who was cleaning out the stores there - hordes of LOCALS on a “shopping” spree who had nothing to do with the protests.
The protesters did steal some stuff. They stole shopping carts, palettes, even a Cub Foods cart corral as they built a barricade. You can see what was taken to the street.
You know what probably lit up the Auto Zone? COPS. Flashbang grenades and other weapons spark fires. The Autozone is kiddy-corner from the police station where the heaviest action was happening. I know that without seeing the vid - this was my old neighborhood, my old Target and grocery stores, and my old police station full of dirty cops. The protestors did spark up some fires along barricade debris and in open lots (bonfire type) which can also be seen in the video. Those are in a parking lot by the precinct and in the street itself.
Stop goddamned blaming protestors for looting and burning. That’s some white-liberal-never-been-to-a-serious-protest shit. It’s what the media and cops want you to believe. The horror stories from the protestors last night are BAD. I suspect one guy caught on video has a very serious head injury, maybe even a skull fracture. He was hit on the back of the head by a “non-lethal” projectile and treated by street medics for the bleeding, but a shot of his face showed both eyes severely blackened all around, immediately. That’s a sign of serious head trauma.
