Trump-loving mayor faces furious backlash after shrugging off George Floyd killing

Trump-loving mayor faces furious backlash after shrugging off George Floyd killing: ‘That man died of overdose or heart attack’

May 28, 2020
By Sky Palma

In a post to Twitter this Tuesday, the mayor of a Mississippi town [Petal] asked: “Why in the world would anyone choose to become a police officer in our society today?”

But as the Hattiesburg American points out, it was Marx’s response that set Twitter on fire.

“If you are talking about the incident in MN, I didn’t see anything unreasonable,” he wrote. “If you can say you can’t breathe, you’re breathing. Most likely that man died of overdose or heart attack. Video doesn’t show his resistance that got him in that position. Police being crucified.”

“I think that people are so quick to judge the police before they have all the facts,” he continued. “I can’t say whether a crime was committed or whether they did anything right or wrong, all I’m saying is don’t rush to judgment based on what you see in that video.”

Since the tweet, Marx’s Twitter account has been deleted. It’s not known if he deleted it or if it was removed by Twitter.

Yeah, right. He's an African American so it had to be an overdose. And somebody who looks like him shouldn't be talking about heart attacks. Jackass.

where they never hear dissenting views to their idiotic racist ideas, that they are genuinely surprised when a comment like this causes a ton of shit to rain down on their heads.

ugly and unappealing? I'm beginning to think that is their main problem. They couldn't get a date in high school and now they're taking it out on everyone else.

They have disgusting personalities too. Plus, they were born without a single brain cell between them.

I think, the only way they ever got a girl or a wife was with money and power. They are often goofy, unattractive, socially awkward, lacking in charm and charisma, and unsexy. That is probably why they really hate the "cool kids" like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. It also explains why so many of them seem to think rape is no big deal. Any guy who makes snide remarks such as "just relax and enjoy it" is probably capable of sexual assault or has fantasized about it.

Yeah, that's because you're a Mississippi redneck racist who doesn't think it's ever unreasonable to kill an innocent black man.

Cops often cite "research" describing this so-called "medical condition" when trying to justify deaths of restrained suspects:

https://www.policeone.com/officer-safety/articles/new-study-perils-and-protections-in-dealing-with-excited-delirium-bgeLZ5L8XVhuv3Ul/

From an article in Slate, "Dying of Excitement":

"The phenomenon is reported most often in police encounters, requiring, on average, four officers to restrain the suspect. In approximately 10 percent of cases, according to the literature, the person with excited delirium may die suddenly. The heart or breathing simply stops."

"...a syndrome that seems to occur almost unerringly when a police officer is choking, hog-tying, or stunning with a Taser someone...excited delirium is used to explain a significant number of deaths occurring in police custody...the term has not been recognized as a genuine mental health condition by the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, or the World Health Organization..."
