$28 million for Trump's autograph

I remember people asking how much it was costing us to have a note from Trump taking credit for the stimulus checks sent to every household getting one. Here’s the answer: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/05/28/coronavirus-post-card-trump-cost-post-office-28-million/5274034002/

WASHINGTON – A post card mailed to every American household that included coronavirus social distancing guidelines and also prominently featured President Donald Trump’s name cost the U.S. Postal Service $28 million, USA TODAY has learned.

The coronavirus card, which began appearing in U.S. mailboxes in March, drew fire from good-government groups that said it applied a political veneer to the administration's effort to inform Americans about the pandemic. The cost comes as the U.S. mail service – which Trump has described as "a joke" – is struggling financially.

The cards cost $4.6 million to print and $28 million overall, according to USPS spokesman David Partenheimer, who was responding to documents obtained by USA TODAY. USPS and the administration are negotiating that reimbursement, he said.

Not a single one has been reimbursed for expenses directly related to the event. One mayor tried to get paid up front, and the Trump campaign protested so loudly he backed down. Of course, his city as yet to get paid.

MF45 never pays his bills, and he's looking to damage the post office anyway.

I never did get mine, which is fine with me. I only wanted to get it so I could deface it and mail it back
