Harris as a prosecutor was far more aggressive in pursuing cases where there was dubious evidence, and she went for the conviction anyway to make her name as tough. She adopted the same attitude when jumping on the get Al Franken bandwagon. I think the black community nationwide in general knows this. I hope she stays right where she is. If Biden is paying her any attention at all, I hope it's for a possible post as AG, and preferably not there, either. The next Democratic AG--and hopefully one taking office next January-- is going to have her/his hands full with crimes committed by members of the current administration, and I want the cases against them to be solid enough so that the defense has no holes in an overly aggressive prosecution to poke. I think the country deserves to spared any VP who was part of Franken's Senate persecutors. Booker and Sanders are out due to Gender. I hope Biden has put Gillibrand, Warren and Harris in the same category.

As for Klobuchar, Demings, Rice or anyone else, I wouldn't be placing any bets anywhere at this point. If Valerie Plame loses her primary next Tuesday, THERE would be a name to jazz things up a bit. Not that I advocate that (and I hope she wins her nomination in NM), but Biden still has time to surprise everyone with his choice. Maybe even pleasantly.

And I don't think Harris' stock is rising either.

We will have to see how this plays out. But whatever Harris may give in the cities she could easily lose in the suburbs.

The cold hard math of demographic politics is that 55% of Black voters live in the south. Our chances in the south in Georgia and North Carolina depend on the suburbs.

Because of that overbalance in distribution it makes the vote even more dispersed everywhere else in the country. If Trump can inject race fear into the divided electorate and get the suburban vote to shift slightly, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and probably Minnesota in the Midwest come back into big play.

Hillary would be president if she had better black turnout, but only because she turned the suburbs.

I'm not willing to even think for a moment we have any idea how this will play. But the death of Amy Klobuchar is greatly exaggerated. As is the rise of any candidate.
