White House Hid CDC’s Warning That Singing in Church Choirs Can Spread Coronavirus, Says Report
THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

The Trump administration took down warnings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website that singing in choirs can spread the novel coronavirus, The Washington Post reports. A debate has been raging for weeks between the White House and the CDC on the level of restrictions to place on houses of worship, but, last Friday, the administration released some guidance on the CDC website. It included recommendations that churches “consider suspending or at least decreasing use of choir/musical ensembles and congregant singing, chanting, or reciting during services or other programming, if appropriate within the faith tradition.” It added: “The act of singing may contribute to transmission of COVID-19, possibly through emission of aerosols.” However, by Saturday, any reference to choirs or congregant singing was reportedly removed. The new guidance also removed a reference to “shared cups” that shouldn’t be passed around. Two White House officials told the newspaper the first version wasn’t approved by the White House, so they asked the CDC to post a different cleared document a day later.

and in other places. The article I saw compared how far droplets spread while speaking, singing, exercising and other activities.

But that is beyond disgusting..

Trump is compromising the safety of churchgoers to help his pandering to evangelicals.

They have established this virus infects through the air and chances increase with singing (like sneezing or coughing) releasing more of the virus into the air.

There was a church choir practice where they spread themselves around the church at 6 foot social distancing spacing. A bunch of them caught the virus from one of the members. It was on CNN.

What Trump is doing, by overriding the CDC, is beyond outrageous -sending some innocent churchgoers to their death to help his campaign.

However, I have a simple question:

Why don't people understand how diseases spread?

What happened to simple preventative measures to stay healthy? By kindergarten, I had learned to wash my hands after going to the bathroom or before a meal. I learned to cover my mouth when I coughed, sneezed or yawned. I learned that if someone was sick, I should stay away from them.

The idea that adults need to be told that singing in close proximity to one another might spread a disease is so obvious that I find it hard to believe that people don't know this!

To be clear, Trump really hurt our country with his incompetence and denial. He is responsible for every single death from CV-19. Nonetheless, some things should be so obvious that we shouldn't need the U.S. government to tell us how to stay healthy.

Any working class person is his target for death because each one is someone who won't use SS or vote against him.
