3. I say "when" he's acquitted. Statistically cops almost never go down for murder.

Bad cops do go to prison sometimes though. I’m proud to have been chosen to serve the US District Court summons and complaint against Sheriff Lee Baca, which eventually wound up with him going to prison.

That was a nerve wracking evening.

However, I didn't think it would happen with King either though.

5. lots of recent examples I thought "surely they will convict the cop"

the guy shot in the car when he reached for his license.
The white homeless guy beaten to death on Orange County
The guy shot in the hotel, following instructions to crawl towards the cop
etc..

But i've read how they carefully put together juries. there is a segment of society that would NEVER convict a cop.. they cant imagine being in that situation.. getting killed for no fault of your own. like some people who blame the rape victim.

8. Naw... it can't happen this time. There's video.

I remember saying this about Rodney King, but still, I feel a difference this time. There are too many good white people fucking this thing up for the bad people. It won't happen this time. Justice will be served.

Hell, Chauvin is lucky. He's only being charged with 3rd degree Murder when he clearly committed murder in the first degree.

He should be happy. He's already getting his break. I don't think a jury will help him this time.

ahead.
Almost impossible to predict how crazy it could get, at least to outsiders logic. Judges and attorneys and above ALL, carefully chosen juries work in another universe.

It went Dem for many years and could still, but mainly due to economic/union reasons, but is overall very white and culturally conservative.

So yeah, I expect the killer cop (who should be charged with 1st degree murder) to be aquitted, ie 'just a hardworking cop trying to do his job' is what most of white America will say.

This issue is serious and isn't going away - Kap was right.

15. Trump's pattern won't change

He'll play both sides from one day to the next while he has Barr do his dirty work fixing it so after the election they can get the charges dismissed or reduced for the cops that were involved. trump has done this before , and will again. Especially after he loses the election, and he will be trying to intentionally create and incite more riots and civil unrest for revenge. He'll also use this as a distraction from all the other more damaging issues he's facing. I would bet trump wants to use force against these people recklessly and with extreme force to boost his ego and satisfy his need for retaliatory extreme violence . trump's giving the Senate and the Presidency to the Democrats from his reckless behaviors. Don't think the Republican Party isn't aware of this too.
