Gun owners are taking photos of themselves pointing weapons at their genitals with the safety off

Gun owners are putting their metal where their manhoods are in a bizarre trend that sees men courting danger to prove how well they can manage a gun.

Those participating in the meme do so by pointing their gun at their genitals with the safety off, placing their finger over the trigger, and posting a photo of it on social media. And voilà, just like that – proof they are very manly.

It was first assumed that the gun owners were embracing the risky pose as a way of trolling progressives. The author and storyteller Dylan Park, who originally reposted the images in a viral tweet, summed that theory up as follows: “To everyone asking why, I’m not 100% sure. But I think the thinking here is ‘Guns don’t kill people, people with guns kill people so we’re going to point them at our dicks to prove how safe they are’ or something,” he said.

The "losers" in this new trend (if it really is a trend) ought to get last place in hospital triage arrangements.

It's not trolling, it's entertainment.

The gun going off by accident would be a hell of a punchline.

Talk about free comedy.

the constitution guarantees them the right to be a moron. Let them exercise those rights. I want them to prove to me that the weapon is hot and that there is a round in the chamber, then the game will take on some real meaning. Do it, do it you fuckers. Make it interesting, use a revolver with one round in it. Spin the chamber and pull that fucking trigger, I double dog dare ya.

Only a shrinking coward would be afraid of putting it in the line like that. Pointing a gun at your junk while taking a selfie proves you have the balls to put it all on the line.

It also proves a lot of dexterity and having the gun in the picture provides perspective like a banana would....uhhh strike that last part not such a good idea.

I should set up one of those twitter things like #junkshotsforjesus or #selfcircumspection for people to display the results of their handy work. Maybe a gofundme for anyone who misfires. Or maybe not, victims can always apply for a grant from the darwin awards research center
