A boy holds a sign during a protest Friday in downtown Los Angeles over the death of George Floyd.

I had the luxury of shielding/cushioning my child from some of the hardships of life until a time when it was developmentally easier to integrate. Others are not afforded that luxury.

This just brought tears to my eyes and gave me goose bumps, it is one of the saddest commentary I've seen on life under drumpf.

That child is most likely old enough to read that sign. It is so not right to do that to a child. The outrage is absolutely warranted, but the children should not have to do the work of the adults.

Even us saltine americans know that many African American families have to have the talk with their young children. And it sucks that that is their reality.

personal experience that many cops can be dangerous, especially if triggered by what they take as a challenge, real or otherwise. But of course the warning would have been more urgent, the problem much worse if they'd been black, Hispanic, poor, or anything but non-poor white. It sucks, all right.

I just was talking to my coworker friend, and he has had to teach his kids all about this. It absolutely sucks that he would ever have to do that. It is not at all over the top. That is our chilling reality.

It would be over the top if the kid couldn't read the sign. Then he's just being used as a prop.

Cop accidentally shoots a 10 year old. He was aiming for the family dog.

Children shouldn't have to do the work of adults but he is growing up in a society where the people paid to protect him are as likely as not to treat him like an animal because of the color of his skin. If cops think it's OK to taser, tackle and zip tie a six year old, then that six year old's classmates are old enough to speak out against it and to be taken seriously when they do.
