(16,616 posts)I'll go over that other post and let them know.

(35,262 posts)Of course they owed this guy an answer to his question
It is his neighborhood and they looked suspicious during a chaotic time
Isn't it your job to stick a mic into stranger's faces and demand answers?
This could have been avoided if they levelled with him

(36,823 posts)all over the place, so why the fuck would you want to trust him... some random white dude. During a chaotic time.

(35,262 posts)Prove who they were would have avoided all of this
They had to have known they looked suspicious in his neighborhood
Their whole livelihood is about asking questions and pushing for answers
They can take the time to answer a question instead of suspiciously rolling up the window

And he replied, when asked who he was with, he said: "myself". So, he wasn't exactly a pillar of transparency (Editor, @TheGrayzoneNews, Co-host of Moderate Rebels.)
Also, I have no idea if this is his neighborhood or not.

(35,262 posts)Instant uploads often cause misinformation
But they should have answered his questions
Like cops who enforce the law but don't think they don't need to follow the same laws
Reporters who ask questions of strangers should be willing answer questions - especially if it's going to clarify a situation
How often has CNN had Breaking News to beat their competitors but gotten it all wrong in their haste?

(16,616 posts)it's not going real well. He's slowly getting there. But I've seen better apologies.

(10,749 posts)Then why did they respond as they did? Why didnt they just say they were reporters. The first guy did, but only after he denied it and it sounded weird to me. And the two guys in the sub did look and sound like cops. If they were cnn, then they deliberately set the video guy up.

(16,616 posts)We've got a president calling CNN the enemy of the people, and the night before a CNN crew was arrested for doing their jobs; I don't really blame them for being reluctant to talk to this person in an environment this supercharged and overheated. By this time they may also have known that there were out of state provocateurs fueling the rioting and attacking CNN headquarters in Atlanta. Bad juju all around for CNN reporters.
Just my opinion.

(10,749 posts)But they seemed suspicious to me.

(35,262 posts)It's a terrible point
Their strange behavior and un-willingness to clarify caused this mess
