This isnt a reaction to anything you said, but to the constant message that the protests are violent
The peaceful protest didnt have cops ordering everyone to disburse.
Theres a long history of violence at protests, even when the protesters practice civil disobedience.
Im against destruction of property, morally and because it is a lousy tactic. It plays into the message that protestors are violent and have to be suppressed.
Police tactics play a role in turning protests violent.
The video gives me stress, but not because of the protesters. Should I have less sympathy for the protesters if the cops started firing tear gas or firing rubber or pepper bullets?
I often see people complain that Americans never protest anymore. Its refreshing to see people getting out doing that. Even protests where everyone is civilly disobedient can turn very violent and ugly.
