David Corn: "It's too late for Trump to act like a decent human being. Decades too late.

His own son-in-law knows that."

He was responding to this tweet from Katherine Faulders of ABC News, reporting that while some aides want Trump to deliver a formal address, others including Kushner believe it wouldn't be helpful:

On the one hand, some top aides - including CoS Mark Meadows - believe Trump should deliver a formal address to the nation arguing it would offer him a chance to unify the country. Other aides - including Kushner - believe it wouldn’t be helpful, sources tell me & @Santucci

He sees himself as only the President of the people who voted for him and the politicians and officials who swear loyalty to him.

The nation is irrelevant to him, if he even knows it exists.

Who The fuck do they think is living in the White House? FDR? JFK? Ronald Reagan?

What has been installed in the White House is an illiterate, ineffective, derelict drug addict. It is as though the biggest asshole in high school, the most Ignorant, the most insulin, the most moronic in every way, the least caring for the feelings of others, was elected student council president.

Upon reflection, even this idiot would probably do a better job than Trump.

It would ring more hollow than Bush after 9/11 and Katrina, and that's a really low bar.

Sure, he could read a prepared speech written for him, but he would read it in a bored, monotone voice. No one would believe a word of it, and afterwards he would immediately resume attacking his critics and dividing the nation. For once, Jared is right.

Is it "he's not capable?"

Or "those people won't listen and deserve what' happening to them anyway."

And that if Trump tries to “unite” the country and fails, it will make him appear weak. Besides, Trump is going to blame all of this on Democratic governors, the media and, of course, Obama.

Trump should resign. Everything in his administration is a failed response.
