Eleanor Barr, wife of Kentucky Congressman, dies suddenly aged 39

(The Guardian) Eleanor Barr, wife of Kentucky Congressman, dies suddenly aged 39

It is being reported that the wife of Rep. Andy Barr from Kentucky, Eleanor Carol Leavell Barr, passed away unexpectedly in the family’s home in Lexington Tuesday night at the age of 39.

The Fayette County coroner was called to the family’s home following the announcement of her passing, WKYT-TV reported.

“During this tragic time, we respectfully ask for privacy for Congressman Barr and his family to grieve Mrs. Barr being called home to heaven,” the statement added. “Congressman Barr may release a more detailed statement at a later date, but right now is solely focused on being a father to his two beautiful daughters.”

US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement he and his wife are “stunned and heartbroken” by the news, and send their “sincere condolences to Andy, their family and his staff at this terribly painful time.”

Condolences for her passing flowed in through the night from other Kentucky politicians, including Gov. Andy Beshear and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.

Barr, who went by Carol, grew up in the state, and went on to attend the University of Kentucky, news outlets reported.

She married Andy Barr in 2008 and the couple went on to have two children. She had worked for Pfizer, and as the executive director of Lexington’s Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship.

She was 39!
While my first and second thoughts were that maybe she had Covid19 or she took her life - I wouldn't put it past them to hide something even worse....

people in that age group are dying without prior symptoms, dying quite suddenly from strokes and the like. It could be the virus, or anything else.

It will be interesting to see what happened.

I wouldn't be surprised if we learn down the road that a number of Republican politicians had COVID19 but kept it a secret, like perhaps Senator Thune.

I lost a friend at that age to a cerebral hemorrhage, she was standing in her kitchen one minute and dead the next. She had three little girls. I feel for her children and her husband, this kind of unexpected loss is so hard.

While I can only speak for myself -I don't think that it was a wish that something bad happened to her, but a fear that something might have. While there was concern that she might have overdosed on something or taken her life - I think the biggest fear was that she was secretly sick with Covid19 and her husband kept her at home instead of taking her to a hospital for medical treatment, more concerned about saving republican face than saving her health.

in college who lost her mother this way. Probably around 40 years old. Unfortunately, her father, a criminal, lasted much longer.

I won’t describe the aftermath for fear of ruining your day, but if Rep. Barr’s wife was even a tenth as bad as my cat, their kids are going to be scarred for life even more than they would have been just because of losing their mom.
