Was Barr/Trump action last night against Berman a Hail Mary Pass, another distraction, a fit of

Trump temper, a finger in the dike or all of the above? I am guessing that the tax carbuncle that Trump has been sitting on is about to burst; Covid-19 is rearing its ugly head in red states and the base is beginning to notice; Trump is pissed off at everyone; and the shit is coming and SDNY has the fan.

this is the first time, in all of his crooked actions, that they announced an inspector "resigned" when in fact he had not, and hoped that doing so at 9:00 on a Friday would mean no one would notice

They do stuff to make him happy. They undo anything they can find done by or even just agreed with by PBO, without much regard to what it even is at this point. They schedule a rally: he must be going nuts that he had to wait so long. They try to fuck over someone who is an enemy in his mind. Remember that nearly the first thing that Berman did upon arrival at SDNY was to recuse himself from the Michael Cohen investigation. Oops.

There are likely other reasons, but I suspect that this is part of it. I'm kind of amazed that they ignored that position for so long.

what govt takeover looks like and may not reflect panic but final housekeeping and consolidation of power. Think the GOP will stop this?
