I call shenanigans on the Huntsman attack video

I haven't followed the who-shot-who on the origins of that video, but I find it striking that the "attack video" makes a scurrilous accusation based on Huntsman's experience in China and then, boom, he comes out with Chinese at the debate.

2. I see no real upside for Huntsman doing that...and I don't think Paul would condone this either.

Why would anyone bother to attack Huntsman? It's not like he's a factor in this race. So....I'm thinking it's someone or some people with no campaign affiliation who did it to with the intent of embarrassing the Paul campaign. Mastering the Chinese language is pretty impressive for a westerner. I suppose he might have been showing the Republican voter that he's capable of negotiating with our largest trading partner.

5. He IS a factor--he's second to Romney now in some NH polls.

He's a dark horse making his move. I don't know if he'll sustain this, but I anticipated this for some time.

A New American Research Group poll shows Huntsman in second place.

“I think this is sort of contrary to the Marist poll and Suffolk polls and other polls. If it’s news, it still shows Mitt Romney well ahead of the pack,” said Griffin. “Huntsman has been waiting for this opportunity, waiting for an opportunity to sort of see his real estate take over New Hampshire pay off, I think Santorum robbed a little bit of that for him in Iowa.”
Griffin said changes in polls happen really fast, which is why Romney told people on Saturday to get out and vote.

6. I read about Huntsman's move in the NH polls after I wrote this.

Hmmm....maybe there is some Paul dirty tricks going on. I sure hope Jon pulls a Rick Santorum (ewww) and comes from nowhere to be make it a horse race. If he does, he's going to do it by taking voters from Mitt. I'd love to see Jon tie up Mitt (that would push Mitt back to the 25-30% ceiling he had in Iowa. Wouldn't that make a mess of the Republican race?

He always has been...He is intelligent, relaxed, articulate, and most of all patient and calculating....He is not a turd or clown like the others; most of all he is a centrist repug.......I just cross my fingers that the GOP and teabaggers don't figure this out.

I am no green pea but I have had enough of these high falutin tom foolery!

I think that you are probably right, somebody with an anti Paul approach but I suspect Romney's supporters more than Huntsman.

If he can get them fighting amongst themselves it helps him.

Actually, I think you might be right--Romney's the one with the money. Though Paul has a ton of young nuts who are True Believers and might gin up something to cause a bit o'chaos.

of being a "Manchurian Candidate"...and what better way to do it than put it in a racist attack ad (against himself) that can be easily denounced.

It's pure Rovian strategy: it gets it out of the way early, makes it 'old news' and helps label anyone who uses that phrase as a racist.
