1. I attribute NC's recent downtick to reduced testing due to lab backups

In my county alone the community drive thru testing which had been 850 per week was halted last week because the lab could not handle the volume plus lack of local staffing and supplies so the only testing right now is at doctors' offices and hospital. Prior to last week, the cars at the 3 community drive in sites were backed up and being turned away when the sites ran out of tests.

Can't effectively hold Trump's feet to the fire when questioning him. I know he turns their mics down. But they are inadvertently allowing him to riff.

That said he got rid of the hardest hitting questioners. People who know how to ask a question that makes it harder to riff on. "Why can't you get a test in North Carolina?". "throwing out big numbers of tests performed means nothing. It's do we have testing where it is needed?"

9. I think downtick in NC is due to effect of mandatory masks

Anecdotally, I have noticed almost everyone wearing a mask since Cooper made it mandatory versus only about 50% wearing them before it was mandatory. It takes a few weeks for things like that to take effect.

7. This is garbage. The Connecticut data doesn't match the state data at all.

There was a backlog of cases reported from out of state, covering May-early July that got reported on Friday. If the algorithm failed to account for the anomaly it looks like cases are exploding in CT. It's basically the same.

And it was such a relief from TX. Everyone wears masks. Businesses "get it". People have adapted to the new world. It shows!. I felt so safe.

Everyone was in masks. EVERYONE. Even the kids.
