Virtually all of my Asian students (especially Chinese and Korean) use anglicized names. I've asked them not to use a name they are uncomfortable with jsut to make life easier for me, and have expressed genuine interest in learning the correct pronunciation. The pretty much universal response is that they prefer a name people generally pronounce correctly. (I'm sure some - even many of them - would agree that America is racist - but that is not related, in their minds at least, to racism.)
