Why did Trump/Melania redo the White House Rose Garden (Jackie Kennedy's)?

They did it just to be pricks. Because nothing tastes sweeter than a liberal's tears and to gas light
America by changing the news cycle. They know that not unless they have massive fraud,
Russian help, and they block mail in voting they are going to lose so why do it now as they are just
about "out the door?" They did it just to be pricks. Outside of the flagstone pavers to allow people with
disabilities access they did not need to do it. I think the crab trees that were removed were not
the ones that Jackie Kennedy had planted because they were smaller then the ones I saw in a
picture of the garden in 1988. I believe that during Melanie's "make over" they removed a number
of roses that date back over 100 years (those roses might not be the original ones but the White House
hort. staff may have propagated the original ones to keep the line going). The crab trees not only
gave a verticle element to the garden but added to the sun vs shadow play under the colonnade.
Especially in the late fall, winter, and early spring.

Outside of the low quality of the design and the work itself doing this now pisses me off because they did it JUST TO BE PRICKS.

BTW even though this is my field the rose garden is nowhere near as important as the >1,000 Americans
per day that are dying from C-19.

How many times have we heard that the one aspect of his business he was interested in was picking out furniture, decor, curtains, carpet, etc? No way Melania does something this big without him sticking his nose in.

They just said she was doing it. I can’t imagine she even cared at all about it. Trump wanted more room for camera folks and media.

it was all just a photo opp to pretend there was a reason for Melania Trump, then she left for her hair appointment in NY and the real people did all the work

Had connections, but was a terrible lightweight and non-strategist. The organzation had this person on the "interiors committee" and that was about it other than making sure certain aspects of this business ran fine on autopilot. All they were good for was picking out carpet and wallpaper. Had strong opinions about too. Other VPs made fun of this person behind their back. Reminds me of Trump.

Heirloom Roses, also known as Antique Roses, are defined as any roses belonging to a class of old roses which existed before the introduction of the first Modern Rose, 'la France', in 1867 (see photo above). Alternative terms for this group include heritage, historic, old roses, antique and old garden roses.

Maybe Malignia replaced some with heirloom, I don't know. But even a rose garden should have other plants in it to make it interesting and fragrant.

She had an expert L.A. on the design, the landscpaing crew was overseen by a gentleman
who went to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and as per JFK he wanted the garden area to
be a "working area" so he could use it along with guests and the White House staff and in
that it was highly sucessful and Trump just fucked it up because he wanted to be a prick.
