The club owner where all the guys hang out casually mentions to Ray Liotta’s character that if he would only come on as a partner it would solve the problem the club owner had been having with local toughs. “If you was part owner, they wouldn’t dare” he said. Ray Liotta can’t believe it, he even asks the guy “you want us to come in and partner with you?” Gave him one last chance.

Later, after they’d used the club as a money laundering joint, speakeasy, stolen goods repository, murder site, and eventually squeezed every last dime out of the joint, there’s a scene in the basement of the club where the club owner is now signing over his last interest as the boys are splashing gas around the place so they can torch it and get the insurance money.

The club owner is the Trump voter, but here’s the real problem. Even though the guy is shaking his head as he signs over his remaining interest in the club, he still doesn’t get that he is responsible. He just thinks things “went bad” somehow.

He’d do it again the same way.
