‘This story doesn’t add up’: CNN’s Gupta singles out Trump doctor’s unusual actions on way to Walter Reed

On Tuesday morning, CNN medical expert Dr. Sanjay Gupta singled out actions taken by Donald Trump’s doctor on the day the president was mysteriously rushed to Walter Reed hospital, and questioned what actually happened that day.

Reacting to an excerpt from Michael Schmidt’s book that “in the hours leading up to Trump’s trip to the hospital, word went out in the West Wing for the vice president to be on standby to take over the powers of the presidency temporarily if Trump had to undergo a procedure that would have required him to be anesthetized,” Gupta said the latest news about the president’s reported unscheduled physical raises a host of new questions.

“I know we’re asking you to read tea leaves which is what doctors don’t want to do but given the reporting and possibility of anesthesia having to go to Walter Reid, what does this tell you?” host Jim Sciutto asked.

“The story doesn’t add up,” Dr. Gupta bluntly replied. “Still, even after all these months, the story still doesn’t add up in part for the reasons that you’ve mentioned.”

My BIL as well as my Spouse's BIL both suffer from Mini Stokes. Watched the video at the time. My Spouse yelled he is having strokes. Both BIL's have since had Stents implanted and since are having issues with stability. Falling as a result of low Blood Pressure in both cases. The Blood thinners are another side effect.

It's what the evidence best supports. I don't see any convincing evidence for stroke, at all.

"old news" here. The news cycle -- as everyone knows -- is incredibly fast these days. And going back to revisit something that happened months ago -- with no real repercussion outside of the predictable (and utterly routine) lying by the WH -- is taking away from real news.

News flash: The president lies! The president makes things up!

Sometimes they can go in elsewhere but most of the time they go in through the femoral artery and the patient has to lie flat for at least eight hours so as not to dislodge the clot that forms at the site.

Spouse of man with a “full metal jacket.”

enjoyed by no other American. In fact, in a greater number of facilities, radial access is the normative approach with femoral now being the fall-back plan. You may be married to someone for whom radial access has been ruled out, but that has limited relation to options a president has available to him.

but they still kept him overnight. I’m not sure why they favor femoral. The poor guy is having an ablation next week and as far as I know he’s still having a femoral line.

Blood thinners in cardiac procedures also cause cautious releases but you’re right, he likely has a hospital suite in the WH. And a whole cadre of medical personnel willing to lie their asses off. 🤷🏼‍♀️
