What Trump was possibly thinking when he said cops "choke during shootings" and "miss a 3-foot putt"

Trump tells Ingraham some officers 'choke' during shootings, saying 'They miss a 3-foot putt'

While discussing the shooting of Jacob Blake with Fox News ahead of his visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin, President Donald Trump said some police officers who shoot unarmed suspects "choke," as if missing a 3-foot putt in golf, a comment that drew social media criticism and mockery.

Blake, a Black man, was shot seven times in the back by an officer as he tried to enter a vehicle in an incident caught on video. The shooting sparked a new wave of protests around the country against police brutality and racial discrimination.

While discussing the situation in Kenosha during a White House news briefing on Monday, Trump said sometimes an officer "makes a mistake" or "chokes" under pressure.

In the 1968 Clint Eastwood movie, Hang 'em High, Captain Wilson of the lynch party that failed to kill Jed Cooper, who was actually innocent, comments that two of the mistakes they made were that they hung an innocent man and they didn't finish the job. This sounds a lot like what Trump could have meant about missing a 3-foot putt. Jacob Blake surviving being shot seven times in the back sounds strikingly similar, and his survival, and hopefully his ability to speak out, could very well cause that cop to wish he had finished the job.

One shot would have been one too many given the situation. Why seven?

It's a solid question, but to my knowledge, there's been no explanation.
And we watch WGN news on & off during the day.
Kenosha is considered local news around here, so lots of coverage. But, no answer to your question I've heard.

I think Trump is meaning the LE guy fucked up. He got nervous and screwed up. Missed the putt, misread the situation. Whatever.

Comparing missing a stupid ass putt in a game no one cares about but you to possibly killing someone because your adrenaline got the best of you and you pulled the trigger 7 TIMES is really not a comparison any rational person would make.

"Choking" is a term I first heard from tennis players back in the early 90s. It meant that at the moment of truth you freeze up, become self-conscious, lose focus and make a serious mistake.
