FBI worried that Ring doorbells are spying on police

1 September 2020

Hacked documents suggest that the FBI is concerned some people may be using Ring or other smart doorbells to watch the police.

The papers describe a 2017 incident where someone remotely watched live footage of police preparing to serve a search warrant.

The information was found online by The Intercept among hacked documents.

Previously, privacy advocates have raised concerns about data from smart doorbells being shared with police.

The hacked papers, known collectively as BlueLeaks, were stolen from more than 250 police websites.

The document in question is a technical analysis bulletin, offering an overview of the opportunities and challenges for police from home security systems and smart doorbells.

There is no expectation of privacy outdoors and that is where security camera systems such as Ring are directed.

5. Good point! No expectation of privacy, just like they (the powers that be) apply to us. Works...

7. The entire premise of this strikes me as ludicrous. Surveilling whoever is on premises IS THE POINT

That's what they always tell us.

In fact, now that I think about it, why hasn't anyone been throwing that line at all the Trumpzis who complain about "spying on the Trump campaign"?

I can't think of an armed gang that needs spied on more then them.

They brought all of this shit on themselves.

If they didn't lie, if they weren't corrupt, if they didn't bully, if they didn't abuse,

if they didn't beat, if they didn't kill there wouldn't be a problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They love spying on us.

They love no knock warrants.

They love confiscating private property.

They love lying in court.

They need to start policing themselves.

They have earned their sadistic asshole reputations.

I hope they enjoy the shit they have stirred up.
