Too bad Rachel or Laurence didn't get a gig vlyons Sep 2020 #1
Rachel did a debate in 2016. I remember her being very good. jimfields33 Sep 2020 #3
Never heard of Scully or Welker- was Rachel on fishing trips all three dates? Nt Fiendish Thingy Sep 2020 #2
Welker is a GOP troll disguised as an MSNBC reporter. COLGATE4 Sep 2020 #11
Amen. OnDoutside Sep 2020 #15
Imagine them giving HER the final, most important debate. COLGATE4 Sep 2020 #17
It's a definite worry. I can't believe the Biden campaign agreed to this. OnDoutside Sep 2020 #19

There should be no 'debate'. Its not Trump I question, its the moderators. Budi Sep 2020 #4
What evidence do you have that the moderators would be unfair? brooklynite Sep 2020 #7

I agree on Wallace. rockfordfile Sep 2020 #27

and producer. I don't think there has ever been a CSPAN debate moderator before. Wallace will be like his dad, an agressive, but no nonsense questioner. I think Welker will be a disaster.

reporting she does - seems to be a repub light. Wallace will just be okay - repub. The others I don't even know about. Looks like Trump worked the 'refs' to be as easy as possible it appears. IMHO

(fun fact: The Commission on Presidential Debates -- a bipartisan group -- doesn't give the candidates input as to the moderators or format. But why ruin a perfectly good conspiracy theory?)

22. Typical Welker question:

Sep 2020
Senator Warren, you are running on Medicare for All. Democrats have been winning elections, even in red states, with a very different message on health care: protecting Obamacare. Democrats are divided on this issue. What do you say to voters who are worried that your position on Medicare for All could cost you critical votes in the general election?

But the question you posted seems to be an accurate summary of what happened in 2018. We won the house mainly by running more moderate Candidates in formerly red districts promising to protect the ACA. Medicare for all was not even on the agenda.

I see nothing wrong with the question as long as she is asking the same type questions to republicans.

Her idea will be that, if Trump never stops talking then there's no need to call him for interrupting.

He's decompensating before our eyes. He gets worse by the day.
His handlers - Kushner at least - know he'd be a disaster.

"Health concerns" or tantrum about how the debate format is unfair or some such bullshit will keep him out of the debates.

not of the standard of a presidential debate. There are lots women who would be far more able, like Rachel, Nicolle Wallace or Amanpour.

from exhibiting very clear pro-Rethug ideas. Of all the highly competent female journalists who could do a bang-up job someone thought that this hack would be the chosen one. It smells.
