I opted to shave my head (and still keep it cut at about 1/2" )... it does take some time to get used to it but for me well worth it

the common reaction when I first shaved it was other women approaching me, thinking I had cancer, that was a bit awkward...

No demarcation lines. No different skin colors.

On top of beauty and brains she’s an expert in putting makeup on!

slapped TF on his face is not only creepy AF but it doesn't match the PASTY WHITE COLOR on his ears, neck, hands & under the eyes, (REVERSE RACOON LOOK?). However, I have one question, as a woman with naturally golden copper caramel skin, WHY DO RACIST WHITES who claim to be SUPERIOR based on the near lack of melanin in their skin spend BILLIONS on tanning booths, coppertone type tanning lotions spray tans? I've NEVER understood that. ANYONE? lol!

Alopecia is an auto immune disease that causes a loss of hair. Sometimes just clumps, sometimes more than that.

It comes (usually triggered by stress) and goes but I’m also a male with male pattern baldness so not many people notice when I have a bout of it.

It first manifested in my facial hair in my thirties. I was upset at first but have come to accept it. Plus it is fun to educate people who ask about it. And it is heart warming when others with it express their solidarity. I didn’t even know there was an alopecia awareness month.

teacher had alopecia. She explained the condition to all the kids. They saw the results. Those kids loved that teacher. Most of the parents did too. My daughter considered that teacher one of her inspirations to be a teacher

All she'd need is the headdress.

She's right. Who needs hair with those cheekbones? (Or just generally with that face?)

But the beauty IS timeless. And the Congresswoman looks like a classic sculpture. Cheekbones and all.

They're hot, scratchy and you worry they'll slip off with any sudden movement. It is so much more comfortable just walking around bald. But for women, there is a huge stigma attached to being bald. The stares are more uncomfortable than the wig. It takes a lot of guts for a woman to just go out in public bald. I couldn't do it. Ayanna Pressley is amazing.
