General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThis is something that I think probably does not need to be said but, just in case there is any
doubt, I will NOT be injected with any "vaccine" made available by the Trump regime---period.
His whorish CDC has now notified all 50 state health departments to be prepared to vaccinate their citizens with a "vaccine" to be available in "late October or early November". Could this possibly be more transparent?
As far as I am concerned, Trump should use his vaccine---as a suppository.

(115,587 posts)I am not at all interested in whatever gets approved by Trump's flunkies in the FDA and CDC conveniently before the election. Whoever wants to be a guinea pig can go for it, and if they haven't all dropped dead in a year or so, maybe I'll sign up.

(102,123 posts)for a lot of reasons that require a detailed vaccinology discussion, but the truth is, I'm not inclined toward any unless and until Biden is in office and some faith has been restored--unless I were enrolled in a Phase III trial. But, in a nutshell, I followed the development of the SARs vaccine using the same technique as Oxford is using for COVID_19 and I find it the most promising for its T-cell stimulation. An antibody only stimulating vaccine is highly unlikely to confer long term immunity.
Honestly, the extreme cold chain storage issues alone with all the mRNA vaccines make them extremely unlikely to come to market any time soon.

(16,917 posts)you've sold me - I was willing to believe BunkerBoy when he told me it was gonna' be "OK" - but now, you've really got me thinking: "Who you gonna' trust - this "2b guy" or the one who says "Many people are saying, "Sir, thank you for making this in your Golden Bathroom between your policy tweets!"
By the way - keep whatever job you now have - ain't no way you've got a future in IQ45's government - you have NO understanding of how to line your pockets at the expense of the public.

(1,967 posts)will not be available for at least three more years. Years of testing has yet to be done on patients with a variety of preexisting conditions. It takes several years to determine if a vaccine is safe and effective for the general public.

It will take months just to fund, organize and give.

(6,457 posts)Too coinkidinky to be viable. After he urged all those ludicrous solutions earlier, I'd like to see the GOP line up and take it first.
Maybe Russia is paying him for guinea pigs.
When I was in the Army, they ordered us to take shots for, I think it was the Swine Flu. We had no choice at all. I remember the gun hurt my arm, but I didn't get sick or otherwise harmed, so I considered myself to be lucky.
Times are different now, and we have a lunatic in charge ("calling the shots." He's just doing this for political reasons before the election, and I'll bet that even if you wanted such a questionable vaccine, it probably won't be available to you, anyway.
If there were a vaccine available that actually worked, we would be the last ones to get it. I'm waiting to hear how he conditions the vaccine (what you have to do to get it, or what privileges you lose if you don't take it.) This is very dystopian, and surreal...

(61,539 posts)Many people are already reluctant to be vaccinated, due to unfounded conspiracy theories and misinformation. Now the US government appears to be lying about the availability of a vaccine. This will cause even more doubt and mistrust.

(1,997 posts)given the corruption evident in the FDA and CDC under this administration, I will advise my patients to wait until there is not the pressure of an election to allow for proper and thorough testing. Public health is at stake, and this should not be a political issue. Period.

(63,221 posts)receives this vaccine on national television in front of members of the CDC, the NIH, the WHO and doctors from every major hospital, and they swear to the efficacy of it, then maybe I might believe it has some worth. Until then, I am not taking my chances.
They can be the Guinea pigs and go first. If they survive it, then maybe we can conclude it will be safe for the rest of us. After a few more rounds of testing. On more republicans. For a few more years. Let them all line up and be the first test monkeys.
