(8,029 posts)for anyone trying to vote twice.
Plus, anyone who votes twice gets their vote thrown out. Both of them. Trump might be throwing the election in NC to the Dems! That would be the silver lining!

(35,454 posts)I think when Biden comes in, there should be a Rico investigation, against the corrupt mob now in charge.
That Trump Crimes Commission is going to be very busy for a long time.

(46,166 posts)I recall how he thought he was on firm ground during his hearing appearances. Mr. Weasel Words. Mr. Time Waster.
But this reply was more "homina-homina" than having the upper hand. He could be slipping now that he's having to skate around one too many executive banana peels.

Barr's astrology indicates that his near future, far from being a triumph, is one long banana skin

Not necessarily a lie -- quite possibly he doesn't have a detailed familiarity with NC laws. However, the existence of state law against it is irrelevant to the question because it is ALREADY A FEDERAL CRIME, of which he certainly must be aware. He just did a head feint to avoid the subject of his President's latest idiocy.

(17,519 posts)The Act of Solicitation
Once an individual has the intent to commit a solicitation, the act of solicitation is very easy to complete. All that is required is that the individual encourage or convince another in some way to commit a crime. This can take the form of a request, suggestion or encouragement to complete the crime. It can also involve commanding, forcing, or inducing the other person to commit the crime. As soon as any of these occurs, the crime of solicitation has been completed. Unlike conspiracy or attempt, which require an additional act in furtherance of the crime itself, solicitation does not require that the solicited party actually take any action to commit the crime. Simply asking a person to commit a crime is enough. For example, if a boy walks up to his schoolmate on the street and asks him to shoplift a toy for him, this is solicitation, even if the schoolmate never acknowledges the boys request, enters the store, or completes the crime. In fact, should the solicited individual, such as the schoolmate, actually complete the crime, the defendant may be liable not only for solicitation, but also for aiding and abetting the crime as an accessory before the fact. The defendant cannot, however, be charged with solicitation and the crime itself. Like attempt, solicitation merges with the completed crime.
Punishment for Solicitation
Like attempt, solicitation of a crime is considered to be a lesser version of the crime itself. Accordingly, punishment for solicitation is typically less severe than the punishment would be had the crime been completed. Depending on the underlying crime solicited, solicitation may be charged as a felony or a misdemeanor.

(7,968 posts)They may manage to get enough of their voters to do this that they actually create the problem they have been screaming about.
Vote by mail voter fraud didn't exist as a thing but now it may well become real and measurable. Especially in North Carolina, which they may have to contest after the election. By stirring the pot, they may be making things just enough messed up that they can discount a Biden victory in the crucial Trump North Carolina. And it will be his supporters who cause the issue they will ultimately scream about.
But then again, there is a lot of work going into informing democratic voters the correct way to vote. I will not accede power to them.
