https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-didnt-want-wounded-veterans-military-parade-report-2020-9President Donald Trump did not want injured veterans to be present at a military parade because he believed it would make spectators uneasy, sources said in a report published Thursday in The Atlantic.
"Nobody wants to see that," Trump reportedly said.
Trump has repeatedly demanded military parades throughout his tenure in office, a move national security experts have said mirrors the actions of authoritarian regimes like North Korea's.
A bit more at link, but just WH denial.

I doubt he would have ever wanted to be a part of anything to do with any parade or ceremony involving Benedict Donald.

(8,039 posts)It was all obviously a long time ago, and my brother has since passed away, but the impact on him and our family lasted for years.
Trump's aversion to seeing what war does to actual human beings is despicable, but not entirely unique. At the time the church my family attended had a minister who was all gung-ho on the War in Vietnam, saying those who opposed it were cowards and communists.
After my brother was discharged from the hospital this minister never bothered to meet him or come to our house to console my mother, who was as damaged emotionally by what happened as my brother was physically.
It taught me an important lesson about people who see war as some glorious abstraction, like Trump who openly says, "I like war."
We left that church and never returned.
