(2,480 posts)My sympathies are not with Richard Jewell. And certainly not with Kyle, his parents must be works of art also

(9,072 posts)It is well-known he was railroaded by the media and the FBI, an interesting harbinger for what social media would someday become.
Odd statement there.

(9,072 posts)The Richard Jewell being referenced in the tweet saved lives during the 1996 Olympic Park bombing. He was then vilified in the media as a suspect. It was awful. They ruined his life after he saved many.
Not the same person as the white supremacist.
The hero Jewell died back in 2007.
I was so confused by your initial statement. Now it makes sense. I think youre thinking of Richard Spencer?

(2,480 posts)Yeah I've heard about the movie don't care the guy did his job but was still a bigot
Sympthsical
(9,072 posts)I googled, and the only thing I could find was that he had a Georgia state flag on his license plate, and that the media featured it prominently while they were tearing his life down.
He saved a lot of lives. He was wrongfully persecuted to an insane degree. He died young.
But a flag is your final word on him?
Could not care less about that kind of short-sighted purity.

(2,480 posts)And yeah any time any place someone displays the Confederate Battle Flag I think it is they're a bigot you can go buy a dramatized movie if you wish

Your comparing Jewell and Rittenhouse is also laughable, as well as nonsensical.

Given that Mr. Wood's client is an enthusiastic supporter of the police, I suspect he would have been on their side in this, and not Richard Jewell's.
