So they also learned to trust the wrong people because in belief systems lies manipulative people and books.
Born to be exploited, sadly and they are too afraid of thier god and want a theocracy.
Jesus didn't want to rule the world,he was offered the world and said no.
He let Satan have it.
So tell me again why theocracy isn't anything but trying to make Satan's world that Jesus let him have Christian?
Btw I escaped being stuck in a evangelical church.
Assemblies of god is a rwnj church a very manipulative church.

(9,944 posts)... enlightening. Not touched upon, tho, are the group of evangelicals believing Crooked Donald is somehow "divine" or "guided by Jesus."

(5,499 posts)Christian evangelicals use the idea of a god to justify their bigotry and their overall life's failings. And they love to claim that they are being persecuted.
We have some in our family. I refuse to interact with them. Life is too short to put yourself through listening to their bullshit.

My Catholic faith is not what tells me abortion is wrong. science tells me that. My faith tells me that killing is wrong, that allowing people to live in poverty and among violence is wrong. my faith tells me to protect the not-yet-born, but that is not my only obligation. I cannot ignore all the other people suffering and vote for Trump (or any other Republican this year) because of that one issue. It sounds like you are correct about people trying to find a way to justify their support of a candidate...it's not me though.
When I choose a candidate, I carefully consider who will be impacted and how, prioritizing g the needs of the vulnerable and marginalized. In the case of the not-yet-born, I vote for Democrats despite their positioning on abortion. I do so in good conscience knowing that it is the best choice that I have and that their policies are more likely than those of Republicans to lessen the "need" for abortion. I also know that far more lives will be saved than the number which will be lost to abortion. In this situation I just choose between lives, I do not have a perfect option. if you want one arbitrary pro life issue to base all youre voting on then make it gun violence. Why not? we lose 100 people every day and 200 people are injured.
I act with integrity according to my faith (all elements of my faith, not a select few)
