It goes ugly early when you don't and were suppose to.
In this case it's a hail and farewell from fellow enlisted and a token of respect for service rendered. She was a good noncom.

(12,365 posts)My father was an aux. policeman in our town. When he passed, the hearse drove through main street. Officers saluted but I thought that was because his coffin was flag draped.
He was a popular guy around town and about 500 people attended his funeral.
Your explanation brings a tear to my eyes.
