Bigly. As one knows, you disparage a Agency of any kind, that Agency tends to balance the books.

Even newly commissioned officers may one day be a General or Admiral, why would such junior officers risk their future for that moron?

He will get troops that don’t have decency to listen to him, those types would love to throw off the chain of command that keeps them under control and prevent them from doing unethical actions.

is only as strong as it's weakest link. And the Weak link is their Commander In Chief. Posses a real interesting scenerio to say the least.

5. I think he's really becoming paranoid

My suspicion has long been that he wanted to first suborn the military, but most military personnel, officer and enlisted alike, take their oath to the Constitution quite seriously. When he realized that they wouldn't just turn over and play dead, he tried to do the same with the FBI and the CIA, and got seriously rebuffed. He did manage to get BCP and ICE, but even there, it's largely been by decimating the leadership of those agencies, and there are hints that even among these two, there are a lot of agents who recognize that they're being asked to do something illegal.

This is the major failing of any would-be dictator - you have to ensure the loyalty of the military to you first. Trump's used to working with private security forces who essentially work for contracts, and while I would not be at all surprised if there weren't more than a few Blackwater mercs in Portland and elsewhere, Trump has been otherwise unable to pull together anyone but wannabes into his private little army.

and heard what he said is willing to publicly lie to cover his ass. I really wish that Dumford or Kelly would publicly refute Trump and confirm that he disrespected one of the most important cemeteries set aside in US Military history. Hopefully Dumford will step forward, he worked several years with President Obama and know what a real President is like, I have little faith in Kelly doing the right thing.

8. We've got to stop using "his own" when we talk about US citizen-owned institutions

That chain of command is not Trump's. Trump is undermining the military chain of command of the United States of America.

People here "his own" and they think maybe it belongs to him to abuse as he sees fit. It doesn't belong to him. He's abusing something that's ours.
