I raise my voice in fervent opposition to the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast's scandalous offer of an award to Attorney General Barr for his "exemplary Christlike" behavior. I urge the group to immediately rescind their inivtation, and I urge anyone reading this to join me.

What is Christlike about a Catholic believer using his discretionary power as Attorney General to undertake a series of speedy federal executions? In contrast, those in power before him for 17 years chose not to seek death.

They use alcohol to ply their future victims. It's one of the reasons they're pro-fetus. The more, the merrier.

Shameful. That is, if the folks who put this event on have any shame at all.

He supplied them with kids from the cages.

The Catholic Church is evil.

I’m sorry that Joe Biden is one.

Frankly I wish we had only atheists as presidents.

Or that politicians simply never ever mentioned god and religion.

It is all hokum meant to fleece the fearful and poorly enlightened.

Gross.

for the Catholic Church's work on behalf of poor and disenfranchised people, especially for the priests and nuns in dictatorial nations who risked and sometimes lost their lives on behalf of the people they served.

I know many Catholic people who are sincere in their faith and not in agreement with some of the Church's actions. Some of our best Dem leaders, e.g. Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, plus past leaders like JFK, are/were Catholic.

The OP plea comes from a nun who works within the church for change. I respect her efforts and courage, even though it is a faith that I could not personally embrace.

Bishop Robert Barron, auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles, who will deliver the keynote address.

Freedom from Religion is what Bill Barr aspires to, when he speaks of religious freedom. Freedom from servicing people he disagrees with like the LGBTQ community or that Muslim students shouldn't be allowed to wear their religious clothing in public schools or transgender selected bathrooms.

There is a difference between Freedom of Religion and
Freedom from Religion.

Write your Catholic authorities that you oppose this honor to the U.S. AG.

He's part of the hard right, "conservative" Catholics.

Crazed "Opus Dei"-type. Remember Rick Santorum? Same kind of flake.
