Early on, NY and Cuomo had a huge hole to dig out of. Urban centers realized that masks and distancing were needed to slow down/stop the virus. The rural parts of the country who had the benefit of time to prepare, will most likely suffer the largest casualties because this is Trump country and they don't need no stinkin' masks and social distancing.
