Trump says he lied about virus threat because he's a 'cheerleader' for America

Recent reports revealed Trump told Bob Woodward the virus was 'more deadly' than the flu — then said the opposite in public.

Donald Trump on Wednesday defended his decision to downplay the coronavirus outbreak, telling reporters his deception occurred because he is a "cheerleader for this country."

"I love our country and I don't want people to be frightened, I don't want to create panic," Trump said. "We don't want to instill panic, we don't want to jump up and down and start shouting that we have a problem that is a tremendous problem, scare everybody."

Trump was responding to newly released audio recordings of an interview he gave to Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward on Feb. 7, in which he said he already knew by then that the virus was "more deadly" than the flu but that "I wanted to always play it down."

More than 189,000 people in America have died from the virus, more than any other country in the world.

14. It's one thing to downplay something early while you assemble experts

to developer a plan. It’s another to call it a “hoax” while doing nothing to minimize the damage and prepare the citizens.

He wanted to be the 'front man' for the greatest republican admin since Reagan. Remember that story from way back when he first started; he thought somebody else would run the day to day, and HIS job was to 'make america great again'.

Hes always considered the presidency to be a kind of public showpiece for any particular executive administration. His problem is the peeps he put in charge to RUN that day to day didnt know, and still dont know a damn thing about how to run a first world power, and anything that conflicted with HIS IMAGE of what HIS role was, got shot down.

This is BESIDE the fact that he thinks anything he grifts off the suckers while hes there, is just appropriate payment for services rendered, and THIS is beside the fact that deep down in his rotten soul, hes a wannabe autocrat with no expierence with anything resembling anything '--cratic' whatsoever.

He doesnt really WANT, what the JOB ACTUALLY IS. And if we as a populace are any kinda decent, we will honor that request come November.
